Congratulations to our winners Austin and Seth!
And thanks everyone who entered.
Madras is for summer, you say? Well, yes, cotton madras is perfect for hot weather. But what about wool madras?
While in old Madras, India, I came across a shop that sold not only genuine local cotton madras, but also a wool variant. Like the well known cotton fabric, this wool fabric was woven locally in villages around Chennai (the modern name of the city of Madras).
Yes, I should have purchased more, but scarcity increases value, I suppose.
I sent the fabric to the able hands of Ellie at The Cordial Churchman. Ellie used a pattern I supplied with a narrower profile than any of their standard offerings (the shape of my favorite bow tie). The result: a Pinstripe Pulpit x The Cordial Churchman bow tie that will never be reproduced.
Alas, you can’t buy one, but I’m giving two of them away.
